Description

TAX ASSOCIATE

Permanent Full Time, Hybrid
Stern Cohen LLP is seeking an experienced Tax Associate to join our modern and diverse public accounting firm.
The Tax Associate will work directly with a Tax Manager and two Tax Partners. The firm’s Tax Department provides tax advisory and tax planning services, handles complex tax filings (e.g. non-resident filings), and supports the rest of the firm. Unlike other firms, our Tax Department is not responsible for the tax filings of the entire firm. We are an advisory and tax planning-driven tax department.
We are seeking a candidate who aspires to a career in tax and is eager to grow with the firm. An ideal candidate may have recently completed their Canadian CPA at a small to midsize accounting firm and is looking to move into a dedicated tax role. We will support and encourage the candidate to enroll in the CPA in-depth tax program.
Stern Cohen offers a rewarding career opportunity with an innovative and award-winning firm. We encourage you to check out this website, LinkedIn and our Careers page for team member reviews and to learn more about what makes us unique.

  • Possess a recently acquired Canadian accounting designation (CPA)

  • Ability to handle multiple assignments, work independently and as part of a team
  • Superior communication and interpersonal skills (both verbal and written)
  • Well-organized and able to balance competing demands

  • Communicating with the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) on behalf of our clients;
