Description The Tax & Audit Manager will provide technical leadership, manage client relationships, and oversee both tax and audit engagements for a diverse portfolio. This role requires a strong self-starter who takes initiative and brings deep technical expertise in both disciplines. As a key leader in the firm, this person will help drive operational excellence and support continued firm growth with a clear pathway to future partnership. Key Responsibilities Manage and review complex tax engagements (individual, corporate, partnership, fiduciary). Lead, supervise, and review audit and assurance engagements across multiple industries. Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, delivering exceptional service and strategic insight. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to staff and senior accountants. Oversee workflow, engagement planning, budgeting, and quality control. Stay current on industry standards, regulations, and emerging issues in tax and audit. Contribute to internal process improvements and firmwide initiatives. Demonstrate leadership qualities aligned with long-term partnership potential. Requirements Active CPA license required. 5–7+ years of recent public accounting experience across both tax and audit. Proven experience managing and reviewing both tax and audit engagements. Strong knowledge of GAAP, GAAS, and federal/state tax regulations. Excellent communication, client management, and leadership skills. Highly self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently. Must reside in Augusta, GA or within reasonable commuting distance. Remote or hybrid work arrangements available for local candidates only.
