In this role you will ensure the banks compliance with the National Internal Revenue Code, BSP regulations, and government issuances while managing tax advisory and audit support processes. What the role will entail Manage the end-to-end tax reporting process, ensuring the accurate calculation of month-end accruals and the timely filing and payment of all BIR and LGU tax returns. Oversee the reconciliation of tax-related general ledger accounts and the preparation of annual tax budgets, projections, and data requests. Monitor overall national and local tax compliance across all business units, ensuring all registration and administrative requirements are met. Provide internal tax advisory services and draft implementation guidelines for new tax laws or issuances from the DOF, BIR, and relevant courts. Lead the updates of bank policies and procedures to align with evolving tax legislation and regulatory mandates. Direct the bank's strategy during tax audits by reviewing working papers, preparing formal position papers or protests, and acting as the primary liaison with tax authorities. Identify potential tax opportunities and exposures to optimize the bank's tax position through proactive tax planning and risk assessment. What we're looking for Bachelor's degree in accountancy and CPA certification required, with an MBA or LLB considered a distinct advantage. Proficient in national and local tax laws and regulations, with a strong background in financial accounting policies and bank products. Skilled in using MS Office applications and professional accounting systems to manage complex data and financial reporting requirements. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with a proven ability to convey complex information clearly and professionally.
