Description:

JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking an experienced Australian Tax Consultants/ Accountants to join our team and provide expert tax compliance, advisory, and planning services to individuals and businesses across Australia. The ideal candidate will have a comprehensive understanding of Australian taxation laws, including GST, BAS, income tax, and corporate tax, and a proven ability to navigate the complexities of the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) requirements. This role offers flexibility with a fully remote working arrangement and opportunities for professional growth.

KEY SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

  • Tax Expertise: In-depth knowledge of Australian tax laws, including GST, PAYG, and superannuation compliance.
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze complex financial data and provide actionable tax advice.
  • Attention to Detail: Accuracy in preparing and reviewing tax returns and other financial documents.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain tax matters clearly to clients.
  • Technical Proficiency: Experience with accounting software such as Xero, MYOB, or QuickBooks, and tax platforms such as ATO’s online services.
  • Time Management: Ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines effectively in a remote setting.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum Certificate IV in Accounting Bookkeeping
  • 6 months of experience in Australian taxation, including preparing and lodging returns for individuals and businesses or 1 year of experience providing bookkeeping and payroll services to Australian Businesses
  • Proven experience in using cloud-based accounting, bookkeeping and tax software.

Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of income tax returns for individuals and/or businesses under the supervision of a Registered Tax Agent.
  • Preparation of Business Activity Statements (BAS) for businesses under the supervision of a Registered Tax Agent.
  • Preparation of end-of-year financial reports under the supervision of an Accountant.
  • Processing employee payroll, including PAYG withholding, superannuation and other liability reporting.
  • Performing day-to-day bookkeeping functions.
  • Preparation of business performance reports.
  • Performing reconciliations, including accounts payable and accounts receivable.
