JOB SUMMARY Responsible for the review of Vertiv Corporation sales orders to ensure proper sales tax is invoiced and to ensure compliance with state and local sales tax laws; Review invoices and process credit or debit adjustments if needed; assist in process improvement projects. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Review daily electronic sales orders to verify sales tax compliance and release of tax hold Review/Originate of After Invoice Adjustments and Tax Write-off forms Collect appropriate documentation for non-taxable orders before invoicing to reduce the flow of After Invoice Adjustments Responds to questions of line-item taxability on invoices pertaining to products/services. Maintenance of Customer Exemption electronic data base and Manual filing systems. Update daily Vertiv Corporation customers for exempt and taxable status using Vertex. Compute and correct invoices containing sales tax errors Research state sales tax laws and determines taxability of items on purchase orders for customers. Reconciles monthly state payments to the sales tax accrual account in the general ledger system. Reconciles Property tax, Real Estate tax, CAT, Use Tax and Canadian tax Update monthly account reconciliations from the current months balance sheet/ detail reports for the tax department File monthly accruals MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor of Science in Accountancy or any accounting related course Experience in reconciliation and Journal Entry Ability to learn the laws governing sales and use tax in all states Office background Accounting experience Good customer relation skills Highly organized, detail-oriented, committed to deliver results, meeting multiple deadlines, and able to work under pressure Proficient in Microsoft office programs—in particular Excel Spreadsheet Willingness and ability to learn company’s ERP system; prior experience with Oracle, SAP and Vertex is a plus.
