POSITION OVERVIEW

The Tax Director will oversee the company’s tax strategy and compliance, ensuring that all tax obligations are met while maximizing tax efficiencies. This role requires a strategic thinker with extensive knowledge in various tax domains to manage the tax planning process and lead a team of tax professionals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement tax strategies that align with the company’s business objectives.
  • Manage corporate tax compliance, including federal, state, and international tax obligations.
  • Oversee tax planning and tax research to identify opportunities for tax savings and risk mitigation.
  • Lead and mentor a team of tax professionals, providing guidance and support in their development.
  • Coordinate and manage tax audits and the preparation of tax returns.
  • Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance and advise senior management accordingly.
  • Prepare and review financial reporting related to tax matters, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Develop transfer pricing policies and documentation in accordance with legal requirements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; a Master’s degree or MBA is preferred.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or equivalent certification is required.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in tax planning, compliance, and strategy, with a focus on corporate and international tax.
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state tax laws and regulations, as well as international tax concepts.
  • Proven leadership and team management skills, with experience in developing and mentoring staff.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and manage risk.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex tax concepts to non-tax professionals.
