The Ohio Department of Taxation is seeking one (1) Tax Examiner in the Tax Equalization - Exemption and Remission Division What You’ll do as a Tax Examiner: The Division of Tax Equalization’s (“DTE”) mission is to ensure accuracy and uniformity in Ohio’s real property taxation system with efficiency, expertise, and transparency. In this role you will: Review and process real property tax exemption requests. Research, interpret, and apply tax laws, regulations, and court cases to evaluate exemption applications. Prepare original correspondence and communicate findings clearly to taxpayers, representatives, and internal staff. Communicate with other government agencies. Assist with internal and external training, workshops, and presentations. Undergraduate core program in business related field or public administration which included 3 courses in accounting; 15 mos. exp. in customer service. -Or 12 mos. exp. as a Tax Examiner Associate, 66811. -Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above.
