Tax Manager APAC

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced tax professional to join a growing global financial services business with an established international presence across Australia, the US, UK and Asia.
This is a broad and commercially focused Tax Manager APAC opportunity, with responsibility across Australia, Singapore and China, offering exposure across direct and indirect tax, international tax, transfer pricing and broader tax advisory. With the business continuing to grow, the role offers genuine scope for increased responsibility and longer-term career progression.
The Role
Working as part of a high-calibre tax function, you will partner with stakeholders across finance, legal and the broader business. Responsibilities will include:
- Managing direct and indirect tax compliance across APAC, including corporate income tax, GST/VAT, withholding tax and other local tax obligations
- Driving and supporting a range of indirect tax projects, with a particular focus on GST and broader indirect tax matters
- Supporting transfer pricing requirements across APAC, including implementation, documentation and ongoing compliance
- Researching complex tax matters and assessing the impact of legislative and regulatory developments across the region
- Providing practical tax advice to internal stakeholders on new business initiatives and commercial arrangements
- Supporting tax planning initiatives and ensuring the appropriate tax treatment of business activities
- Assisting with tax provisions and deferred tax calculations for APAC entities
- Working with external tax advisers and supporting tax authority queries, audits and examinations
- Identifying opportunities to improve tax processes, controls and automation
- Supporting broader business growth, entity expansion and operational changes across the APAC region
About You
We are looking for a commercially minded tax professional with a strong technical foundation and the ability to work effectively with stakeholders across the business.
Ideally, you will bring:
- Strong experience across corporate tax compliance and advisory
- Solid GST and broader indirect tax knowledge
- Exposure to Singapore and/or China tax matters would be advantageous, but is not essential
- An understanding of transfer pricing and international tax concepts
- Exposure to cross-border transactions or commercially focused tax advisory would be advantageous
- The ability to interpret and apply tax legislation in a practical commercial context
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Experience gained within a large corporate, financial services organisation, Big 4, mid-tier or tax/legal advisory environment
- CA/CPA, CTA, legal or relevant tax qualifications would be highly regarded
