As we continue to scale rapidly, we are building a sophisticated, compliant, and data-driven finance organization to support multi-state operations and long-term growth. Position Summary The Tax Manager will serve as the company-wide lead for all tax-related matters across multiple entities and jurisdictions. This role is responsible for overseeing tax compliance, reporting, planning, and audit support across 30+ states while partnering closely with executive leadership, Finance, and Accounting teams. The ideal candidate is highly analytical, detail-oriented, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced, private-equity-backed, multi-entity environment. Key Responsibilities Tax Compliance & Reporting Act as the primary owner of all federal, state, and local tax matters across multiple legal entities and jurisdictions Ensure timely and accurate filing of income tax returns, sales and use tax filings, property tax filings, extensions, and estimated payments Manage the annual tax provision process in accordance with GAAP, including deferred tax calculations and reconciliations Tax Strategy & Planning Identify and implement tax planning strategies to optimize the company’s effective tax rate and cash flow Advise leadership on tax implications related to acquisitions, restructures, expansions, and other strategic initiatives Monitor changes in tax laws and regulations and assess potential impact on the organization Audit & Risk Management Serve as the primary point of contact for federal, state, and local tax audits, inquiries, and examinations Develop and maintain processes, documentation, and internal controls to ensure compliance and reduce risk exposure Partner with external tax advisors to manage audits and complex tax matters Financial Close & Analysis Support Partner with the Controller and Finance team to support month-end and year-end close activities Assist with preparation of consolidated financial statements and tax-related disclosures Provide financial and tax analysis to support leadership decision-making, acquisitions, and private equity initiatives Collaboration & Leadership Collaborate cross-functionally with Accounting, Finance, Payroll, Real Estate, and Operations teams Provide tax guidance related to contracts, payroll, real estate transactions, and vendor agreements Manage relationships with external tax advisors, consultants, and tax technology providers Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required (Master’s degree preferred) Active CPA license required Minimum of 3 years of progressive tax experience (multi-state or multi-entity experience strongly preferred) Strong understanding of federal, state, and local tax compliance and GAAP tax provisions Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy Strong communication skills with experience supporting executive and C-suite stakeholders High level of responsiveness, professionalism, and ownership Proficiency with ERP systems, Google Workspace, Power BI, and data visualization tools Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills Compensation Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience Benefits Medical insurance Dental insurance Vision insurance Career growth opportunities within a rapidly expanding national organization Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) Statement We are an Equal Opportunity Employer and are committed to providing a workplace free from discrimination.
