Description

ABOUT LENDABLE

Lendable is on a mission to make consumer finance amazing: faster, cheaper, and friendlier. We’re building one of the world’s leading fintech companies and are off to a strong start:

  • One of the UK’s newest unicorns with a team of just over 600 people
  • Among the fastest-growing tech companies in the UK
  • Profitable since 2017
  • Backed by top investors including Balderton Capital and Goldman Sachs
  • Loved by customers with the best reviews in the market (4.9 across 10,000s of reviews on Trustpilot)

So far, we’ve rebuilt the Big Three consumer finance products from scratch: loans, credit cards and car finance. We get money into our customers’ hands in minutes instead of days.
We’re growing fast, and there’s a lot more to do: we’re going after the two biggest Western markets (UK and US) where trillions worth of financial products are held by big banks with dated systems and painful processes.

Responsibilities

THE ROLE IN A NUTSHELL

We have an exciting opportunity for a self-motivated and enthusiastic Tax Manager to ensure compliance with all relevant tax laws and regulations, develop and implement effective tax strategies, and provide expert guidance on tax-related matters to the business. A great chance to join similarly minded individuals who love to learn, thrive on working collaboratively, enjoy the challenge of supporting a fast growing Fintech, and who have the ability to change and improve how things get done.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure timely and accurate preparation and filing of all UK and US tax returns, including corporate income tax, VAT, payroll tax, and other relevant taxes - providing effective oversight and review where preparation is outsourced
  • Develop and implement tax-efficient strategies to minimize the company’s global tax burden while complying with all legal requirements
  • Stay abreast of changes in tax laws and regulations in relevant jurisdictions and assess their potential impact on the group
  • Implement and maintain an effective Tax Risk, Governance and Control Framework
  • Manage and coordinate tax audits, ensuring timely and accurate responses to audit inquiries
  • Review and prepare tax provisions, ensuring they are accurate and in accordance with accounting standards
  • Support and review R&D tax credit claims
  • Provide expert advice on tax-related matters to management and other stakeholders
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance tax efficiency, compliance and reporting

FOR THIS ROLE, YOU CAN EXPECT:

  • A 30-minute video call with a member of the Talent team
  • A short Tax skills competency test
  • Onsite Interviews with the CFO, other members of the Senior Leadership team and other members of the Finance team
