People Advisory Services encompasses Mobility, Global Employment Tax Services, Total Rewards, HR Performance Improvement and Immigration services. Mobility Tax services include Canadian and US personal income tax compliance and advisory services; mobility policy design; executive compensation advice; employer tax advice; and global coordination. Your key responsibilities Interface with clients and colleagues, located throughout the world, by phone, virtual meetings and in person Analyze client tax data to determine appropriate and optimal Canadian and US filing positions, and provide tax planning advice to clients Review US and Canadian personal income tax returns Manage the financials of client accounts by developing budgets, determining resource requirements, timely invoicing and appropriate revenue recognition, while monitoring financial metrics for optimal results Provide guidance to more junior colleagues on both tax technical and performance management skills Contribute to a flexible, stable, and team-oriented working culture that fosters personal development and a positive attitude Tax technical research to support both compliance and advisory deliverables Leverage technology to maximize productivity Understanding and addressing client needs in an ever-changing mobility landscape, by offering integrated mobility solutions (e.g. immigration, workforce advisory, payroll systems) Skills and attributes for success Effective communicator and confident team player who cannot only collaborate with people from various teams but also prioritize shifting demands in a rapidly changing industry Willingness to contribute to a flexible, stable and team-oriented working culture that fosters personal development and a positive attitude. Excellent interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving ability Ability to work in a high pressured and time sensitive environment A commitment to learning in a tax technical environment using evolving technology This role involves interaction with clients operating nationally and globally. Bilingualism in French and English is therefore a requirement. What we look for Someone with a diploma or bachelor’s degree (preferably with an emphasis in accounting, finance or a related field and a minimum of three to five years of US and/or Canadian personal income tax experience Excellent knowledge of current automated tax processing systems and tax laws in an area of technical specialization Either US CPA or US Enrolled Agent designation Exceptional PC Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, particularly Excel What we offer you The EY benefits package is designed to support your physical, emotional, financial, and social wellbeing.
