PalmPay is a leading fintech company committed to providing innovative payment and consumer finance solutions that make digital financial services more accessible, safe, and rewarding.Current company seeking a proactive and experience Tax Manager to oversee all aspects of tax compliance, planning, and advisory for our operations in Tanzania. The role requires deep knowledge of Tanzanian tax laws, regulations, and practices, as well as the ability to manage relationships with tax authorities and provide strategic guidance to senior management. Key Responsibilities Tax Compliance Ensure timely and accurate filing of corporate income tax, VAT, PAYE, withholding tax, excise duties, and other statutory obligations in Tanzania. Maintain compliance with Tanzania Revenue Authority (TRA) requirements and other regulatory bodies. Oversee preparation and submission of tax returns and related documentation. Tax Planning & Advisory Develop tax strategies to optimize the company’s tax position while ensuring compliance. Provide guidance on the tax implications of business transactions, contracts, and investments. Advise management on changes in tax legislation and their impact on operations. Audit & Risk Management Lead and manage tax audits and investigations by TRA. Identify and mitigate tax risks through proactive monitoring and internal controls. Maintain accurate tax records and documentation for audit readiness. Leadership & Collaboration Supervise and mentor the tax team, ensuring professional development and high performance. Collaborate with finance, legal, and operations teams to align tax strategies with business objectives. Liaise with external advisors, auditors, and consultants when necessary. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field; CPA or ACCA qualification preferred. Minimum of 7 years of progressive tax experience, with at least 3 years in a managerial role. Strong knowledge of Tanzanian tax laws, TRA procedures, and international tax principles. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver under tight deadlines. High integrity and commitment to compliance. Competencies Strategic thinking with attention to detail. Strong leadership and team management skills. Ability to build and maintain relationships with tax authorities and stakeholders.
