Description

Piper Companies is looking for a Tax Manager to join a biotechnology company focusing on products to address life threatening conditions. This is full-time position and hybrid out of Silver Spring, MD with 2 remote days per week.

Essential Duties of the Tax Manager:

  • Manage all aspects of the Company’s global indirect tax compliance and planning (including sales and use tax, personal property tax, etc.).
  • Prepare analysis, memos, and other documentation necessary to support the Company’s state and local income tax compliance, provision, and planning.
  • Support the Company’s tax compliance and planning related to employee benefits and executive compensation, including equity-based compensation and state-by-state payroll sourcing and reporting.
  • Assist with preparing communications and presentations of tax considerations and conclusions to the VP of Tax and/or Finance and business leaders.

Qualifications of the Tax Manager:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or similar field of study AND Certified Public Accountant (CPA) OR Juris Doctorate (JD).
  • 7+ years of tax experience (including both direct AND indirect tax).
  • 3-4+ years of experience in a Big 4 accounting firm or a large, multi-national corporation subject to SEC reporting requirements.
  • 2 years of people management experience.

    Compensation for the Tax Manager:

  • $130,000 - $160,000 (based on experience)

  • 20% annual bonus
  • 20% annual stock options
  • 2 remote days per week
