SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum 5+ years of recent experience in tax management and tax preparation
  • Extensive knowledge of S Corp (1120S) returns
  • Ability to analyze financial statements for accuracy and reasonableness
  • Drake Software knowledge is preferred but not mandatory
  • Must be a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Enrolled Agent (EA)
  • Great organizational skills, including time management and strategic thinking
  • Excellent written/verbal skills and effective communication skills to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Attention to detail, accuracy, and timely follow-up are essential

EXPERIENCE:

  • 5+ years of recent experience in tax management and tax preparation (Required)
Responsibilities
  • Preparing complex returns
  • Supervise a team of tax preparers and facilitate meetings with the tax team
  • Conduct quality reviews of tax filings and supporting documentation prepared by tax preparers
  • Provide feedback to staff regarding the quality of their submissions
  • Follow up with state and federal correspondence directed at clients, such as Collection Letters, Audits, and Offer In Compromise (OIC)
  • Develop and implement tax strategies to minimize liabilities and optimize tax positions for our clients
  • Monitor and research changes in tax laws, providing recommendations and updates to the leadership team
  • Act as the primary point of contact for team members, providing clear instructions, feedback, and training as needed
  • Ensure accurate tax forecasts, budgeting, and reporting for leadership
  • Cultivate a collaborative and efficient team environment while maintaining high performance standards
