Position Overview: The Tax Preparer assists clients by preparing accurate federal, state and local tax returns, ensuring compliance with current tax laws. This role requires strong attention to detail, knowledge of tax codes and the ability to provide clear guidance and excellent client service. Duties and Responsibilities: Prepare and e-File federal and state tax returns Prepare and review tax returns to ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations Apply knowledge of financial and accounting software for accurate reporting and analysis Use accounting software to manage accounts and prepare financial statements Stay current with IRS regulations, tax laws, and resolution programs Collaborate with team members to support efficient workflow and communication Assist Enrolled Agents as necessary Other duties as assigned Education and Experience Valid PTIN Experience with Tax Prep software such as Drake, Lacerte, ProConnect or similar Experience preparing W2, 1099, and Schedule C returns Minimum of 2-5 experience in state and federal tax preparation, with a strong understanding of IRS procedures and tax laws High School Diploma or equivalent education required Compensation and Benefits $20-$28 an hour Receive yearly performance–based bonuses Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance include Paid time off Skills and Abilities Strong knowledge of federal, state and local tax laws and regulations Proficiency in tax preparation and accounting software Strong attention to detail and accuracy Strong attention to detail and accuracy Analytical and problem solving skills Clear communication and client service skills
