We are currently looking for a Tax Process Expert to join our new business area – Taxes – in the Global Solution Center (GSC) in Szczecin. The person will be responsible for analyzing and documenting tax processes, supporting implementation of tax technology solutions as well as for on-going tax operations (tax compliance), ensuring timely delivery and alignment with corporate objectives. Job Description Your responsibilities Build expertise in the area of indirect tax, including tax compliance obligations in selected European Union countries that METRO Group operates in Support in analyzing and documenting tax processes Analyzing existing tax workflows and systems to identify inefficiencies and areas for improvement or automation Collaborating with stakeholders to identify business needs related to tax processes with a primary focus on global indirect tax requirements Support in implementation, evaluation and testing of tax technology solutions, ensuring compliance with local law obligations Support in data exports and mapping Analyzing datasets to ensure correct results on indirect tax determination and reporting. Designing (and then applying) data validation rules and ICF controls Preparation of indirect tax returns (and other VAT submissions such as EC Listings, SAF-Ts and Intrastat reports) ensuring good quality and timely manner of submission Qualifications Our requirements Minimum 3 years of professional experience in the tax area and proven track record of involvement in relevant projects. Previous experience in SSC with engagement in indirect tax compliance for various countries will be a strong asset Knowledge of tax compliance requirements with focus on VAT tax laws and ability to perform legal research Willingness to engage in the field of technology development for tax settlement processes Strong analytical capabilities for effective data interpretation and process improvement / automation Experience with SAP and advanced business use of MS Excel is preferred Experience in tax technology platforms / tax engines, such as Oracle, Vertex, Avalara is preferred Fluent in English and Polish.
