The Boeing Company’s Tax Department is currently seeking a Tax Project Manager (Level 4) to join its team in Chicago, IL.
In this role, you will collaborate with teammates in a hybrid work environment to support US tax reporting of non-US operations, tax accounting projects, federal tax controversy issues and research and development (R&D) tax credits. This is a unique role for a mid-level tax professional with Federal and/or International Tax experience to work across multiple specialty areas dependent on the candidate’s experiences. You will engage with business partners across the Boeing organization as you evaluate the implications of tax laws in a dynamic environment and ultimately deliver value to the Enterprise.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience working corporate income tax

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):

  • Experience in Public Accounting
  • Experience with R&D tax credit claims
  • Experience with interpreting federal and/or international tax laws and regulations
  • Ability to learn new areas and take on new responsibilities
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects

EDUCATION

Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent Required

Responsibilities
  • Oversee federal R&D tax credit claims, ensuring compliance with tax laws
  • Research international and domestic tax law changes and advise on compliance, risk mitigation, and opportunities
  • Support quarterly and annual income tax provisions and SEC reporting per ASC 740
  • Collaborate with non-tax functions and external auditors
  • Manage Internal Revenue service (IRS) audits and tax controversies to minimize risk
  • Lead U.S. international tax return preparation, identifying tax-impacting transactions
