Job Title: Tax Resolutions Associate
Salary: Negotiable + bonus
Location: Northampton - Office Based
Reporting to: Tax Resolutions Manager

We’re Seeking Someone with Experience in:

  • Law, Psychology, or Sociology, or a tax/accounting background.
  • Previous experience working with or interacting with HMRC (advantageous but not essential).
  • Strong analytical and written communication skills
Responsibilities

This role involves responding to HMRC enquiries and drafting responses. You will engage directly with company directors and technical specialists, handle some general administrative duties, and participate in mediation processes.

In This Role, You’ll Engage In:

  • Client Communication: Act as the primary and secondary point of contact for clients dealing with tax-related disputes.
  • Case Analysis and Strategy Development: Assess each client’s situation to determine the most effective resolution strategy.
  • Preparation of Supporting Documents: Prepare all required documentation to support a client’s case, including financial disclosures, detailed client narratives, and explanation letters.
  • Correspondence with HMRC/Tax Authorities: Represent clients before HMRC (or other relevant authorities), acting as an intermediary to clarify issues, respond to enquiries, and advocate for the client’s interests.
  • Negotiations and Advocacy: Negotiate directly with tax officers to resolve disputes and secure settlements.
  • Research for Specific Cases: Conduct thorough research on relevant tax regulations and use industry knowledge to craft effective solutions tailored to each client’s situation.
  • Managing Multiple Cases: Handle a portfolio of client cases, balancing deadlines and ensuring each client receives timely attention and updates on their case status.
  • Document Management: Maintain detailed records for each client, tracking communications, documentation, and the status of ongoing negotiations.

We’re Seeking Someone with Experience in:
