Seeking an Experienced Tax Reviewer in the West Des Moines Area!! Job Description We are seeking a highly skilled Tax Reviewer to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and compliance of tax returns with current tax rules, laws, and regulations. As a subject matter expert, you will manage special projects, including tax audits, tax planning strategies, and additional CFO work. This role involves advanced tax research, resolving complex tax issues, and assessing current practices to recommend improvements. Responsibilities Review tax returns for partnerships, corporations, and individuals for accuracy and completeness. Act as a subject matter expert for all tax-related items. Handle special projects such as tax audits and tax planning strategies. Facilitate advanced tax research and resolve complex tax issues. Assess current practices and procedures and make recommendations for improvements. Perform ad hoc analysis and projects as requested. Communicate with clients to gather information about project scope, budgets, and timelines. Collaborate with outside departments to gather information and improve processes. Meet with other executives to discuss client project goals, progress, and outcomes. Essential Skills Accounting Tax preparation Tax return review Tax planning Proficiency in QuickBooks and Lacerte 1040 Tax Analyzer Advanced Microsoft Excel skills Thorough knowledge of U.S. GAAP Additional Skills & Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required CPA or MBA preferred 5+ years of progressive tax experience with some experience in reviewing tax returns Efficient, accurate, and deadline-driven Experience with other financial systems Familiarity with Lacerte and QuickBooks preferred but not required Work Environment The position operates in a cubicle-driven environment that is production and time-sensitive. The role demands a high level of efficiency and accuracy to meet deadlines. Job Type & Location This is a contract-to-hire position based in West Des Moines, Iowa.
