TAX SENIOR

Our client are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Tax Senior to join their dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a genuine enthusiasm for personal tax and a proven track record in managing complex tax matters for a diverse client base. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work with a wide range of clients, from SMEs to large Blue Chip organisations, and to further develop your expertise in various aspects of tax compliance and advisory services.

Responsibilities
  • Self-Assessment Tax Returns: Prepare and review self-assessment tax returns for a diverse portfolio of clients, ensuring accuracy and compliance with HMRC regulations.
  • P11D Forms: Complete and submit P11D forms for clients, accurately reporting expenses and benefits provided to employees.
  • Inheritance Tax (IHT) Calculations: Assist in the preparation of IHT calculations, providing valuable insights to clients on estate planning and potential tax liabilities.
  • Capital Gains Tax (CGT) Reporting: Submit 60-day CGT reports for relevant property transactions, ensuring timely compliance with HMRC requirements.
  • Trust Registration Service (TRS) Compliance: Manage TRS compliance obligations for clients, including initial registrations and ongoing updates.
  • Client Communication: Maintain regular contact with clients, providing updates on their tax affairs and addressing any queries or concerns.
  • Technical Research: Stay up-to-date with changes in tax legislation and conduct research on complex tax issues to provide accurate advice to clients.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with other members of the tax team, providing guidance and support to junior staff when necessary.
  • Quality Control: Implement and maintain quality control procedures to ensure the highest standards of accuracy and compliance in all tax-related work.
  • Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, identifying opportunities for additional services and contributing to business development initiatives.

Ideal candidate:

  • 3+ years experienced in a Tax focused role
  • ATT or CTA Qualified or working towards the qualification
  • Knowledge of Self Assessment, CGT and IHT legislation
  • Great attention to detail, able to work to deadlines
  • Collaborative, great communication skills and customer focused
