Job Overview Curative is a leading health care services company that has created and launched a first-of-its-kind employer-based health insurance plan. Curative is seeking a motivated Tax Staff Accountant that is looking for growth opportunities and to obtain an accelerated learning experience in a dynamic environment. You will work closely with and report to the tax team to assist with all aspects of the tax department, which may include facilitating the accurate preparation and filing of our company’s federal and state tax forms and workpapers. This position is a great opportunity for someone early in their career to learn how the tax and accounting/audit path function. An effective tax staff will have solid knowledge of accounting processes and principles, have good attention to detail, is organized, and is always looking to improve. Work Arrangement  If located in Austin, TX – Hybrid (2-3 days in-office, the rest work-from-home)  If located Remote (May require travel to Austin, TX 1-2 times per year) Responsibilities for Tax Staff * Coordinate and work with the external firm on the Company’s quarterly income tax provisions and federal/state tax returns. * Ensure the accurate and timely filing of consolidated federal, state, and local income tax returns, estimated tax payments, extensions, and other business-related filings. * Prepare and file tax returns and workpapers related to sales/use tax, property tax, and other business-related/statutory filings. * Prepare month-end book journal entries related to sales/use tax, property tax, and other business-related/statutory filings. * Prepare weekly tax payment forecasts. * Assist with any IRS and state income tax audits: preparing responses, creating schedules, etc. * Resolve notices received from the IRS and state tax jurisdictions. * Provide support with various special tax related projects. * Conduct tax research and prepare internal tax memorandums. * Verify general ledger tax accounts and work with the accounting team on booking appropriate journal entries. * Work with various internal departments in gathering information needed for tax deliverables. * Maintain various tax trackers and organize files. Qualifications * Detail oriented and diligent at notes. * Team player. * Strong accounting, analytical, and research skills. * Excellent written and oral communication skills. * Strong organizational and interpersonal skills. * Bachelor's degree in Accounting. * Strong computer skills; proficiency in Excel for pivot tables, logical formulas, etc. * Ability to prioritize and manage multiple assignments in a fast-paced work environment. * We are looking for entry level candidates with 0 - 2 years of experience in tax or accounting, preferably with experience in tax public accounting. * Preferred candidates have a current CPA license or are working towards one. * Preferred candidates have experience in public accounting or corporate tax. Responsibilities

The Tax Staff Accountant assists with the preparation and filing of federal, state, and local tax returns and workpapers. They are also responsible for managing tax payment forecasts, resolving IRS notices, and supporting tax audits.
