Find out more at http://careers.jdepeets.com Job Description As a Statutory and Tax Specialist within our Global Business Services (GBS) Finance team, you will play a key role in the statutory and tax processes for your assigned country. This hands-on position involves execution of tax accounting and tax compliance activities for CIT, VAT and local taxes as well as statutory accounting and reporting in line with local regulations and corporate standards. You’ll collaborate with internal teams and local markets, contribute to process improvements, and help drive automation and standardization across our statutory and tax landscape. The role requires strong technical knowledge, attention to detail, and a process-driven mindset to ensure quality and consistency. Key Responsibilities: Ensure accurate and timely preparation and filing of statutory financial statements in accordance with local GAAP. Execute accurate and timely tax accounting and reporting. Responsible for tax compliance processes including VAT, CIT and specific local taxes, including quality and timely preparation of tax filings. Support Local finance teams with statutory and tax audits and ad hoc projects. Incorporate changes in local tax laws and regulations, assessing potential impacts and recommending necessary actions. Collaborate with internal stakeholders (e.g., Accounting, Treasury, Legal, Operations) to gather relevant data and ensure completeness of statutory and tax submissions. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, driving automation and process standardization across the GBS tax and statutory landscape. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; Master’s degree or professional qualification (e.g., CPA, ACCA, CTA) preferred. 3–5+ years of relevant experience in statutory reporting and tax compliance, ideally in a multinational or shared services environment. Strong understanding of local (European) tax principles and tax compliance requirements. Experience working with ERP systems (SAP) and Statutory & Tax reporting tools (Workiva). Solid knowledge of IFRS and local GAAP. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a cross-functional, multicultural team environment. Proficiency in English (written and spoken); additional European language (Spanish, Italian, French, Greek, Dutch/Flemish, Danish, German, Czech, Slovak, Lithuanian, Bulgarian, Hungarian and Romanian) is preferred.
