  • Experienced with tax compliance processes and familiar with reporting and filing requirements.
  • Analytical and precise, with the ability to translate complex rules into logical steps and calculations.
  • Confident in Excel and logic-based tools, or eager to learn more technical tools used in automation and rule engines.
  • A strong communicator who can explain technical tax concepts in clear, simple terms to non-tax stakeholders.
  • Experience with payroll or tax software development, tax engines or business rules platforms will be advantageous
  • Exposure to tax automation projects or digital tax transformation initiatives.
  • A passion for improving tax processes through better tools, data and collaboration.
  • Solid research and documentation skills.
  • Ability to explain complex tax rules in plain language.
  • Confident using Excel and/or logic-based tools (e.g. formula building, rule engines).
  • Structured thinker with strong attention to detail. Collaborative, curious, and tech-savvy mindset.
    Job Type: Full-time
    Work Location: In perso
Responsibilities
  • Research and interpret personal income tax regulations (e.g. South Africa, UK, Canada, US, EU countries) to inform product logic and automation.
  • Translate tax rules into structured logic, including formulas, thresholds, rates and tax treatments, used within our payroll and tax platforms.
  • Build and maintain tax calculation engines that handle a wide range of scenarios, including special regimes and edge cases.
  • Collaborate with other teams to design automated workflows and ensure accuracy and compliance across tax processes.
  • Contribute to the data model and schema design for tax-related reporting and filings. Track regulatory changes and ensure continuous compliance by updating logic and system configurations as needed.
