Responsibilities
  • Tax Technical & Compliance: Provide guidance on Canadian indirect tax matters, including the interpretation of GST/HST, QST, PST legislation, case law, and government policies. Proactively manage tax compliance and identify opportunities for tax optimization while following the TELUS Tax Strategy
  • Project Management: Support high-impact projects, including tax authority audits, appeals and litigation, tax planning, legislative impact assessments, and system/process improvements. Balance multiple tasks and work closely with Tax and non-Tax team members, adapting to shifting priorities to support evolving business and taxation needs
  • Government Relations: Engage with government authorities to stay ahead of tax regulations and policy changes. Incorporate this knowledge into TELUS’s tax planning and compliance strategies
  • Innovation & Continuous Improvement: Address challenges related to acquisitions, new product introductions, business process changes, systems implementations, audits, and appeals. Drive initiatives to enhance tax efficiency, compliance, and overall business performance
