JOB DESCRIPTION

You will have the opportunity to work with one of our various teams within the Technology group. From Day 1, you will be treated as an equal member of the team and given meaningful assignments to help us deliver improvements to our technology platforms. This could include platforms such as core banking, customer servicing, or customer engagement.

TAP Engineers will perform a variety of activities, which may include:

  • Design and develop new and existing applications
  • Responsible for producing technical deliverables from inception through to development
  • Leverage best practices in development, architectural principles, continuous integration and delivery
  • Assist in technical discussions to drive robust modernized solutions for existing and future projects
  • Write clean code that is maintainable, optimized and aligns to best practices
  • Ensure that code is properly unit tested and has significant code coverage
  • Proactively explore new capabilities to drive technology innovations
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to transform requirements into technical requirements
  • Work closely with other developers, architects, and SMEs to produce quality technical solutions that meets the business requirements
  • Comply with agile methodology, system development life cycle (SDLC) and project management methodology (PMLC)
  • Work effectively as a team, supporting other members of the team
  • Adhere to application security standards and best practices to ensure application is secure and free of vulnerabilities

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum 4-year degree in STEM related field. (Graduate degrees preferred)
  • Capital Markets Interests (School, extra-curriculars etc.)Previous co-op or intern experience preferred.

Responsibilities

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Participate on a team with targeted deliverables, working on initiatives designed to develop new functionality, improve processes, systems and applications which support our key businesses at TD Securities.
  • Produce high quality code for various initiatives and ensure defect free programming by testing and debugging using available/appropriate tools and participate in peer code reviews.
  • Develop new applications/solutions with consistent quality standards; provide code maintenance and support during testing cycles and post-production deployment.
  • Work with technologies such as: JavaScript, Angular, React, SQL, NoSQL, C++, C#, Go, Java, Scala, Python, NodeJS, RESTful APIs, Hadoop stack (HBase, HDFS), Spark API (DataFrame, DataSet), enterprise integration patterns and messaging systems (Kafka, ZeroMQ), etc.
  • Work on Financial Securities-related Technology projects such as: trade capture, real-time derivatives pricing & risk mgmt., PNL, quant modeling, algo execution & hedging, big data analytics, electronic trading & STP, valuations, etc.
  • Software Engineers will typically become subject matter experts in financial products such as: equity derivatives, interest rate derivatives, FX spot & derivatives trading (market making, algo trading & hedging), fixed income, credit derivatives, commodity derivatives, mortgage-backed securities (MBS), etc.
