Job Description A teacher plans and delivers lessons, supports student learning, and helps develop students’ knowledge, skills, and behavior in line with the school’s curriculum and goals. Core responsibilities Prepare lesson plans, teaching materials, and classroom activities aligned with curriculum standards and learning objectives. Teach classes, explain concepts, lead discussions, and use different methods (presentations, exercises, group work) to engage students. Assess and record student progress by setting homework, tests, and assignments, marking work, and giving feedback and grades. Classroom and communication Maintain an orderly, safe, and inclusive classroom environment, managing behavior and supporting a positive learning culture. Communicate regularly with parents or guardians through meetings and reports about students’ performance, progress, and behavior. Collaborate with other teachers and school staff, attend meetings and training, and contribute to school events and activities Qualifications For a school teacher, typical qualifications are: Completion of a bachelor’s degree in education or in a subject area plus a teaching qualification (e.g., B.Ed. or equivalent). Knowledge of the relevant curriculum, child development, and classroom management strategies, often supported by teaching internships or practice teaching.
