Job Description
Tea Service & Guest Experience
- Provide expert guidance to guests on tea selections, brewing methods, and food pairings.
- Conduct personalized tea tastings and ceremonies to enhance the guest experience.
- Ensure the highest standards of tea preparation, presentation, and service.
- Engage with guests, sharing the history, culture, and benefits of different teas.
Tea Menu Development & Curation
- Curate and maintain an exclusive tea menu featuring premium loose-leaf teas, herbal infusions, and seasonal specialties.
- Source high-quality teas from renowned producers and suppliers.
- Design innovative tea-based beverages, including signature blends, mocktails, and cocktails.
- Collaborate with chefs to create tea pairings for tasting menus and afternoon tea services.
Training & Team Development
- Train and educate hotel staff, including servers and bartenders, on tea knowledge, brewing techniques, and etiquette.
- Develop training materials and conduct workshops for continuous learning.
- Uphold and promote the hotel’s commitment to excellence in tea service.
Operations & Inventory Management
- Manage tea inventory, ensuring freshness, proper storage, and cost control.
- Establish and maintain relationships with tea suppliers and vendors.
- Monitor and maintain brewing equipment, ensuring optimal performance and cleanliness.
- Maintain compliance with health, safety, and sanitation standards.
Qualifications
Qualifications & Skills:
- Certification as a Tea Sommelier or extensive experience in the tea industry.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a fine dining restaurant, luxury hotel, or tea-focused establishment.
- Profound knowledge of global tea varieties, preparation techniques, and cultural traditions.
- Strong sensory evaluation skills and ability to identify nuanced flavors and aromas.
- Excellent communication and storytelling skills, with a passion for guest interaction.
- Ability to train and inspire a team to uphold exceptional service standards.
- Well-organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing inventory and supplier relations.
- Fluent in English; additional languages are an advantage.
