What You’ll Do: Assesses educational needs of incarcerated persons. Develops lesson plans to address those needs to include individualized assignments and training. Provides instruction in fundamentals of electricity, using test equipment and residential, commercial, and industrial wiring and individual assistance. Administers, scores and interprets examinations and proficiency indicators. Maintains discipline and/or security and counsels students concerning their performance, behavior and/or personal problems. Attends variety of meetings (e.g., in-service training, treatment team, student interviews). Prepares required records and reports (e.g., enrollment figures, grades, student progress). Inventories and orders supplies and materials needed. Researches, selects and recommends new teaching materials. Attends in-service training sessions and workshops for professional development. Performs other duties as assigned. Must meet eligibility requirements for Teacher Certificate/License appropriate for career-tech - electrical wiring & grade level as assigned*; Teacher 1, 71441, must also have baccalaureate degree or less per OEA agreement; NOTE: Applicant must successfully obtain Teacher Certificate or License prior to employment.
