What You’ll Do: This position is entitled to a 20%25 supplement. • Provides instruction in turf management for residential and commercial property applications (e.g., care of grass, landscaping, trees, flowers, plant, shrubs, equipment operation and maintenance), business management, record keeping and individual assistance • Assesses educational needs of inmates • Develops lesson plans to address those needs to include individual assignments and training • Provides instruction and individual assistance • Administers, scores and interprets examinations and proficiency indicators • Maintains discipline and/or security • Counsels’ students concerning their performance, behavior and/or personal problems. • Attends meetings as required • Prepares required records and reports (e.g., enrollment, grades, student progress) • Inventories and orders supplies and materials needed • Researches, selects, and recommends new teaching materials. • Attends in-service training sessions and workshops for professional development • Performs other duties as assigned Must meet eligibility requirements for Teacher Certificate/License appropriate for career-tech - horticulture & grade level as assigned*; Teacher 1, 71481, must also have baccalaureate degree or less per OEA agreement; NOTE: Applicant must successfully obtain Teacher Certificate or License prior to employment.
