Are you looking for a unique and exciting educational adventure working in a brand-new Sixth Form that’s part of a University?
Are you looking for a place where you can share your passion with students who are keen to learn?
University College Birmingham opened its new Sixth Form Centre in September 2024 to 280 fabulous year 12 students and we are looking for knowledgeable and ambitious teachers who have experience teaching A-level Sociology to join our team as we grow.
Teaching within a university environment and our £5.5 million Sixth Form Centre facilities will provide you with a truly unique opportunity to rethink science education; to create a beautiful, knowledge-rich curriculum which transforms academic learning through exemplary pedagogy and research-informed practice.
We are unashamedly ambitious and strive for the best academic outcomes for our students, alongside explicitly teaching character education, empowering students to live purposeful, flourishing lives.
Preparing for university within a university means our students (and teachers) will benefit from the extensive award-winning support services at UCB, including a library with online access to over 60 million digital resources containing published research papers as well as course textbooks, a dedicated academic support service available for all students, a Health and wellbeing service with a Nurse, mental health support and counsellors, and a dedicated careers team to help secure student work experience and volunteering roles.
We recognise that you will be our greatest asset and we will fully support you to excel in your craft; our professional development programme includes instructional coaching and there is the opportunity to undertake a Master’s or other professional qualification.
We can support ECTs through the next stage of their professional development or help more experienced teachers develop their pedagogy and leadership skills for their next steps.
