Description
Description St. James School in St. Joseph, MO is seeking a part time classroom teacher aide for the 2025/2026 school year. This position will be 20-25 hours per week. Responsibilities Implement activities and opportunities that encourage children’s curiosity, exploration, and problem solving. Provide care for the physical, social, and emotional needs of students while promoting and modeling the mission of the Catholic Church. Assist the lead classroom teacher in preparing materials, directing activities, and caring for each individual student while encouraging spiritual and mental growth to ensure proper development is taking place. Participate in and complete required training through professional development opportunities. Demonstrate professionalism, including confidentiality, when working with administration, staff, parents and children, while promoting positive relationships and effectively communicating with others. Lead children to meet high behavior standards Supervise children indoors and outdoors. Must be physically able to perform the job of a teacher of young children. Perform other duties as assigned by building administration. Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent required; college coursework preferred. Experience with children in educational settings preferred.
