If so, join the team at Nurtury! * Full Time, Monday - Friday Only (35 - 40 hours per week) * $20.00 per hour * Free college courses available for Early Educators working in EEC Licensed programs like Nurtury! * Immediate Openings General Summary: Under the direct and immediate supervision and guidance from the Program Director and Lead Teacher, the Teacher Assistant has input into all aspects of the education program and assists in all activity areas to implement the planned program. Essential Functions: 1. Assist in ensuring the health and safety of the children in the classroom at all times. 2. Provide input to overall planning of classroom goals and curriculum. 3. Assist Lead Teacher in observing and recording of children's behavior for the purpose of determining appropriate curriculum. 4. Attend and participate in staff meetings (and parent meetings when appropriate) and in-service/professional day opportunities to promote professional growth. 5. Work with individual children, and small groups of children. 6. Share appropriately in all routines, transition periods as well as in the daily main­tenance of the classroom and materials in keeping them clean, tidy and attractive. 7. Carry out classroom assignments as requested by the Lead Teacher. 8. Communicate positive health habits and nutrition to children including serving and eating with children family style. 9. Enroll in courses as deemed necessary through the evaluation process by Program Directors. 10. Initiate requests for training and/or assistance as part of on-going evaluation. Knowledge, skills and abilities required to perform the essential functions: * Full Time availability, Monday - Friday, required * High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (G.E.D.). * Successful completion of a Child Growth & Development college course within the first 12 months of employment.   * Demonstrated interest in continuing study in the field of Early Childhood Education.  
Responsibilities
The Teacher Assistant supports the Lead Teacher in implementing the education program and ensuring the health and safety of children. They assist in planning classroom goals, observing children's behavior, and maintaining a clean and attractive classroom environment.
