Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Actively participate in the implementation of the curriculum, ensuring compliance with all Head Start Performance Standards while demonstrating exceptional skill. Embody the qualities of a role model, fostering strong, positive relationships with children and their families. Champion school readiness by encouraging children as they prepare for their educational journeys. Adapt seamlessly to various work environments and assume a leadership role in the absence of the teacher. Engage parents by fostering enthusiasm and encouraging their active involvement in the program. Maintain vigilant supervision over the children, ensuring their safety in all areas of the environment. Attune to each child's individual needs, addressing their social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development to facilitate growth. Conduct thorough observations of development, organizing portfolios, crafting assessments, and designing weekly lesson plans. Exhibit diligence in maintaining a clean and organized classroom, ensuring a safe space for children to explore and learn. Teacher Assistant Details Join us full-time (40 hours a week) for 9 months annually (from the dog days of mid-August to the blossoming mid-May). Want to extend the fun into summer? HIT, Inc. might have you covered! Dive into the delightful world of 3- to 5-year-olds, teaming up with fellow teaching adventurers! Kids rock out four days a week (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday). Wednesdays? It's all about prepping and training for the big show! Got experience with tiny tykes ages 3 to 5? That's a golden ticket! Hablas español? Consider it a bonus superpower! Must have high school diploma or equivalent Your education determines your paycheck. Here's the pay scale: Teacher Assistant I ($17.50/hour) At minimum have a high school diploma or GED and enroll in Child Development credential (CDA) program to be completed within two years of being hired; or Enrolled in a CDA program to be completed within two years of being hired. Head Start covers the cost of obtaining your CDA. Teacher Assistant II ($18.60/hour) A current Child Development Associate (CDA) credential. Teacher Assistant III ($20.33/hour) An associate or baccalaureate degree in Early Childhood Education or related field Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
