The Brunswick School is looking for compassionate and dynamic Assistant Teachers to join our growing team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to inspire and guide young learners, creating a nurturing classroom environment where curiosity and creativity flourish alongside experienced Lead Teachers. As a key member of our teaching staff, you will play a pivotal role in assisting the early educational experience for our students while collaborating with a supportive team of professionals. Job Responsibilities: Assist in planning and implementing activities to meet the physical, emotional, intellectual and social needs of students Assist in developing culturally appropriate programs and activities Establish routines and procedures for daily learning/play experiences Supervision of students in the classroom Establish routines with Lead Teacher and provide positive guidance for behavioral outcomes Clearly and effectively communicate in a manner that children understand Communicate to parents on an as needed basis about child’s behavior, positive and negative, with approval of Lead Teacher Collaborate regularly with Lead Teacher to develop weekly plans and activities Perform assigned tasks as designated by Lead Teacher/ Director Required Qualifications Required Qualifications: High School Diploma required Associates degree in education/related field or CDA preferred Minimum of 2 years of experience in child care setting Ability to relate positively to young children, parents and staff Willing to work flexible hours in order to meet the needs of the program. Able to lift 40 lbs and walk, squat/kneel, sit on floor, see, hear, speak with children to ensure children’s health and safety Must be willing to work flexible hours Must be technological literate. Assistant Teachers will be required to use, manage, understand, and assess technology.
