Supports the Lead Teachers and the Director by helping to create a caring and safe environment for the children.

  • Assists in activities to improve the overall care and quality of education.
  • Communicates, listens, and works well with others in a team environment
  • Assists in implementing a quality educational program and in developing positive relationships with the children and their parents.
  • Observes and documents children’s interest and progress, and relays that information back to parents and staff.
  • Implements developmentally appropriate activities based on children’s interests and needs under the direction of the Teacher and the Director.
  • Performs at a level of excellence that represents the vision set forth by the Lead Pastors and Director of Family Family Church Early Learning Center.
  • Assists in the implementation of curriculum activities and encourages participation by the children.
  • Engages in activities; manages cleanliness, maintenance, and availability of classroom materials.
  • Maintains frequent communication with parents through informal discussions and progress reports.
  • Encourages self-help and good hygiene through behavior modeling.
  • Helps ensure smooth, daily transition from home to the child care center.
  • Follows all center policies and state regulations.
  • Maintains a personal professional development plan to ensure continuous quality improvement.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of professional child care experience.
  • High energy.
  • Ability to work well with others.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills and basic computer skills.
  • An understanding of child development.
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Infant/child CPR, First Aid certification, Child Abuse prevention and Communicable Disease training.
  • Continuing Professional Development hours (OCCRRA) registered.
  • Must clear full background check
  • Must pass health screening.
  • Ability to take frequent walks, use hands and fingers, handle objects, tools or controls.
  • Ability to talk to and hear voices at many levels.
  • Ability to kneel, bend, squat, or crawl.
  • Ability to see close up and at a distance, colors, and peripheral vision and depth perception.
  • Ability to lift up to 35 lbs. comfortably.

Required Education:
High School Diploma or GED; Significant college credit in Early Childhood Education or related field of study or 6 hours of Early Childhood Education credit (preferred, not required); or CDA
