Morning Star Catholic School in Pinellas Park is seeking to hire a full-time teacher assistant for a special education classroom. Candidate should be passionate about working with students with special needs and have some experience in this area..

Responsibilities:

  • Assisting the lead teacher in daily classroom activities.
  • Providing one-on-one support to students.
  • Helping with classroom management and behavior support.
  • Assisting in the preparation of lesson materials.
  • Supporting students during non-classroom activities (e.g., lunch, recess).
  • Documenting student progress and maintaining records.
  • Communicating with parents and other staff members as needed.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor’s degree preferred).
  • Experience working with children, especially those with special needs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Successful completion of a Level II Background Screening.
