Our industry-aligned training includes compliance programs such as Confined Space and White Card, and we have a proud history of supporting apprentice training in hospitality, cyber security, plumbing, electrotechnology, and building. In addition to our apprenticeship pathways, we offer advanced programs in building design, surveying, civil construction, and engineering. This position is currently based at the Sunshine campus of the University; however, it may be relocated to any existing or future University work location as required. About the Role:   Step into a rewarding teaching role where your industry expertise becomes the foundation for shaping the next generation of Building Surveyors and Builders. As a TAFE Teacher in the Advanced Building department at VU TAFE, you’ll deliver high‑quality training, assess student competency, and maintain accurate academic records.  Position Key Duties      * Facilitate learning and establish educational and assessment strategies to suit a range of student, client needs and industry contexts. This includes delivery on-line, blended and in diverse settings including within enterprises and the community * Ensure quality compliance of the requirements of ASQA, VRQA, HESG service agreements within your delivery and assessment * Establish and maintain a positive learning environment and undertake assessment of student performance in accordance with the requirements of the relevant curriculum / training package. * Research, develop and customise learning materials suitable for a range of teaching and learning settings and diverse students and industry clients. * Design and develop training and assessment that is learner focussed and responds to learners as individuals      Salary:  $93,058 per annum – $117,998 per annum  Employment Type: Fixed term until December 2026   Hours: 38 hours per week Location:  Sunshine Campus For a detailed overview of the role’s duties and responsibilities, please refer to the (insert position title)     About You:  * The successful candidate must hold an approved degree, or advanced diploma, a TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment; or TAE40110 with required upskill units TAEASS502 and TAELLN411 or TAELLN401A.  * Ideally you will have at least 5 to 8 years of industry experience, enabling you to successfully teach into our Cabinet Making course.  * Your great communication skills will be a key asset and use daily to teach out students and you will need to have a willingness to continually learn and develop as a professional trainer and assessor.  * You must hold a valid E Class (employee) Working with children Check to be able to undertake this role.
