Responsibilities

REQUIREMENTS & DUTIES SPECIFIC TO THIS POSITION:

  • Teach theoretical and practical concepts, and the strategies and techniques associated with the field of cybersecurity.
  • Introduce students to the design, implementation, and management of linked systems of computers and peripherals to maximize efficiency and productivity.
  • Teach students to work on computer hardware, software and applications; local area (LAN) and wide area (WAN) networking; principles of information systems security; disk space and traffic load monitoring; data backup; resource allocation; and setup and takedown procedures.
  • Guide students through assigned course work and prepare students to take the CompTIA A+, the Network+, and the CompTIA Cybersecurity Analyst [CSA+] certifications.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and administration to provide work-based and intern-based opportunities.

GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:

  • Demonstrates mastery of related subject matter, instructional skills, and resource materials for course(s) taught
  • Creates lesson plans, aligned with current state and district standards, which drives instruction through formative assessment and differentiation
  • Maintains a safe, organized classroom, which supports students’ independent learning, collaboration citizenship, and choice
  • Provides a variety of assessments and uses assessments for planning and instruction
  • Provide consistent feedback to students that promotes critical and creative thinking, and collaboration
  • Uses available technology/instructional media to enhance the students’ learning experiences
  • Establishes and maintains appropriate relationships with students, parents, staff, and community members by communicating in a tactful, courteous, and confidential manner
  • Demonstrates a commitment to continuous professional growth
  • Maintains a professional appearance and demonstrates behavior that is conscientious and responsible.
  • Engages parents and guardians in the education of their children
