POSITION INFORMATION
Prairiewood High School is a co-educational, partially selective, comprehensive secondary school located in Wetherill Park in Sydney’s South-West region on Dharug land. The school has a stable enrolment of approximately 1350. This includes 60 students each year in the selective stream and four Support Unit (Autism and IO) classes across Years 7 to 12. 87% of students have a Language Background Other Than English, and students represent 30 countries of origin. Approximately 50% of the student population requires English as an Additional Language or Dialect (EAL/D) support, which has been steadily increasing. Currently, 25 students identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander background.
SPECIAL NOTES
If applicable, engagement will be temporary until successful completion of the Teacher EAL/D qualifications as recognised by
the NSW Department of Education which must be completed within 12 months.
