POSITION INFORMATION

Holroyd High School is known for its diverse student population of around 600 students, with around 86% of students from non-English speaking backgrounds. The school emphasizes inclusive education, Visible Learning, and Choice Theory to foster a supportive learning environment. It also houses an Intensive English Centre for newly arrived students and a support unit for students with intellectual disabilities and/or autism.
The Intensive English Centre (IEC) at Holroyd High School supports newly arrived students from non-English speaking backgrounds by providing targeted English language instruction and essential orientation to Australian schooling. Through differentiated programs, trauma-informed practices, and a culturally inclusive environment, the IEC helps students build language proficiency, academic skills, and confidence for successful transition into mainstream education.
