Description

Inventor STEM School is an after school center, which offers innovative enrichment programs in science, engineering, robotics, architecture, and coding for children from 3-16 years old. During the school year we also organize various activities for children, such as LEGO Birthdays, Halloween Party and Summer/Winter/Spring Break Camps!
Currently we’re looking for an enthusiastic Teacher who will work with children 4.5-7 years old for our upcoming Summer Camp with the possibility of continuing with us for all our future special events/after-school classes!
Summer camp will run for 8 weeks: Monday - Friday. (June 23 - August 18)
For this position we will be hiring 2 fulltime teachers.

KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION

  • Must currently live in Montreal
  • Bilingual - English and French
  • Must have experience as teacher/camp counsellor
  • First aid training required
  • Passion for specific STEM topics (preferred)
  • A relevant CEGEP or University degree (preferred)
  • Computer skills (e.g. Word, Excel, e-mail)
  • Extra points for candidates who love LEGO, Minecraft, robotics, or programming!
Responsibilities
  • Participate in 1.5 days of training (valid for all our other camps);
  • Teach students LEGO and Programming with Scratch Jr. utilizing Inventor curriculum, teaching tools, and other materials;
  • Prepare, organize and supervise various science and STEM activities for the campers;
  • Supervise campers both during indoor and outdoor activities;
  • Create a fun and engaging atmosphere for our students;
  • Assure the security, hygiene and well-being of the campers

Parents/Enrollment:

  • Maintain positive, effective communication with parents
  • Handle inquiries from parents regarding our programs
  • Encourage students and parents to enroll students in future programs
  • Be able to respond to parent questions about their child’s progress everyday

May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
