BACHELOR’S OR MASTER’S DEGREE IN EDUCATION, SPECIAL EDUCATION, OR VISUAL IMPAIRMENTS, ACTIVE TEACHER OF THE VISUALLY IMPAIRED CERTIFICATION AND 1+ YEARS TEACHER OF THE VISUALLY IMPAIRED EXPERIENCE REQUIRED. APPLICANTS WHO DO NOT MEET THESE QUALIFICATIONS WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED.

Provide specialized education to students with visual impairments in a K-12 school setting located in Fort Worth, TX. This contract position spans the current school year (CSY), offering the opportunity to deliver focused instructional support to three visually impaired students through twice-weekly sessions. Candidates will be responsible for developing and implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) in collaboration with related services staff, ensuring each students educational needs are met effectively.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Delivering tailored instruction and support to visually impaired students
  • Writing, updating, and implementing IEPs in compliance with Texas education standards
  • Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams including therapists and aides to optimize student outcomes
  • Monitoring student progress and adapting instruction as needed
  • Maintaining clear documentation and communication with families and school personnel

Qualifications:

  • Valid Texas State Teaching License with Visually Handicapped (Grades PK-12) Endorsement is required
  • Demonstrated experience working with visually impaired students
  • Proficiency in developing and executing IEPs
  • Ability to work collaboratively with related services staff
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
