Overview Position Title:Vocational Health/Physical Ed TeacherStetson School, an Affiliate of Seven Hills Foundation Monday through Friday8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Annual Pay Scale - $59,980 to $75,730(based on MA teacher license level) Sign on Bonus $10,000 for fully licensed applicants /$5,000 for applicants requiring a licensure waiver! The Health/Physical Education Teacher provides instruction and skill-building to students in a structured vocational and special education environment, focusing on health, fitness, and physical development. This role supports students’ academic, social, emotional, and vocational growth through individualized instruction aligned with Massachusetts curriculum frameworks. Benefits for Full Time Employees Health InsuranceOffered through Blue Cross Blue Shield with generous employer contribution Enhanced Retirement Plan25 to 33 percent employer match based on tenure Student Loan AssistanceLoan consolidation support, counseling, and limited employer contribution Tuition BenefitsDiscounted tuition through college and university partnershipsTuition assistance for reimbursed or prepaid coursework Home Mortgage InitiativeFavorable down payment options of 3 to 5 percentReduced closing costs co paid by Seven Hills Foundation Work Life Balance 3 paid personal days11 paid holidaysAccrued paid sick time Responsibilities Plan, prepare, and deliver instruction aligned with Massachusetts curriculum frameworks and individualized student needs Plan health and physical education curriculum based on the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks Prepare and implement health and physical education lesson plans to meet the needs of individual students Design, modify, and/or select instructional materials and strategies appropriate to individual student needs Employ differentiated instruction using a variety of instructional techniques, instructional media, and materials Utilize assessment techniques and instructional materials to implement instruction with a variety of learners Develop and implement workout programs to meet the needs of individual students Prepare budgets for physical education equipment purchase and installation Oversee facility and equipment safety and maintenance Budget, plan, and request needed supplies and materials to implement physical education programs Assess physical education needs and communicate relevant needs to the Educational Director Maintain an inventory of all physical education equipment Train and teach students in the appropriate use of physical education equipment Collaborate with vocational, clinical, and behavioral staff to reinforce skill development and behavior plans Maintain accurate documentation and progress reporting using required electronic systems Create a structured, supportive classroom and work-based environment that promotes safety, respect, and student engagement Supervise students throughout the school day to ensure safety and consistency Implement behavior support plans in collaboration with ABC I and other team members Teach socially appropriate behaviors using positive reinforcement and behavior modification techniques Model professionalism and caregiver qualities that promote dignity, respect, and emotional regulation Additional Responsibilities Administer annual standardized assessments as required Participate in team meetings, trainings, and professional development Perform physical activities including walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or assisting students as needed Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in education, health, physical education, or a related field such as psychology or human services required Master’s degree preferred Experience working with students within the assigned age range Demonstrated ability to use computer-based systems including Microsoft Word, internet-based IEP platforms, lesson planning systems, and report writing tools Preliminary, Initial, or Professional Massachusetts license in Moderate Disabilities PreK–8 preferred Applicants not currently licensed must meet waiver eligibility, apply for licensure, and obtain licensure post-hire in accordance with the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) Valid driver’s license required If you experience any issues with the application process or have questions about this position, please contact: Sarah LelievreHR Generalist RecruiterSeven Hills Foundation Stetson School Slelievre@Sevenhills.org
