Job Description Teacher – Primary Grade 1 Home Room Teacher Purpose of Role We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Grade 1 Homeroom Teacher who will be responsible for teaching English, Mathematics, and EVS while nurturing the overall development of young learners. Teacher – Grade 1 HRT - Key Responsibilities Plan and deliver engaging lessons in English, Mathematics, and EVS aligned with the school curriculum. Develop students’ reading, writing, numeracy, and environmental awareness skills. Create interactive learning experiences using stories, activities, and teaching aids. Monitor and assess students’ academic progress and maintain records. Provide constructive feedback to students and parents. Maintain a positive, safe, and inclusive classroom environment. Support students’ social, emotional, and behavioral development. Prepare worksheets, assessments, and learning materials. Participate in school meetings, events, and professional development programs. Collaborate with colleagues and coordinators for academic planning. Collaborate with teachers, coordinators, and parents for integrated learning. Participate in training, workshops, and staff meetings for professional growth. Maintain student records, discipline, and adherence to school policies. Skills, Qualifications and Experience Bachelor’s Degree in Education (B.Ed) is mandatory. Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field (English / Education / Related field). Minimum 2–4 years of teaching experience in Primary grades preferred. Good communication and classroom management skills. Ability to design engaging lesson plans and creative teaching aids. Patience, empathy, and ability to handle diverse learners. Collaborative mindset to work with peers, coordinators, and parents. Proficiency in basic computer skills (MS Office, digital tools for teaching). Prior teaching experience of 2 to 4 yrs at school level preferred.
