POSITION INFORMATION
Lurnea HS is a comprehensive, co-educational secondary school located in the city of Liverpool. The school serves a diverse community of learners with 84% of students having a LBOTE and of that number 75% require EAL/D support and 28 students who are Aboriginal or Torres Strait islander. The school has a Support Unit for students with mild, moderate intellectual delays and autism and an Intensive English Centre (IEC) catering for the English language learning needs of newly arrived migrant and refugee students. The provision of rich, accessible, flexible and creative learning experiences lies at the heart of the ways students and staff thrive and learn at Lurnea High School through a growth mindset of increasing educational attainment for every student every year. Lurnea HS works in partnership with parents, families and the wider community to extend learning beyond the school gates to ensure that students are connected to resources and opportunities that promote resilience and inspire lifelong learning. The position of teacher- librarian is central to the overall school community, as a teaching and learning space and resource, as well as a space to share and celebrate all aspects of cultural and academic achievements.
