Do you have experience working with students with Special Educational Needs (SEN)? Are you passionate about helping learners overcome challenges and achieve their potential?
If the answer is yes, then we’d love to hear from you!
Experience:
Due to our rapid growth, we are looking for an experienced Teacher to join our supportive team at Oaktree – Castle Way (an alternative provision setting, providing education and care to students aged 11- 16). For the right candidate we would also consider taking on an Early Careers Teacher (ECT) and can provide mentorship to help you with your teaching career.
About the role:
All teaching will be on a one to one basis and we tailor the curriculum to meet the student’s needs.
We are looking for a teacher who is passionate about creating meaningful learning experiences for students with complex needs. You will implement a creative approach to teaching, ensuring individual needs are met and no barrier prevents our students from achieving their full potential.
Some of our students may display challenging behaviour, and the role requires someone with experience in building positive relationships, resilience, and helping students develop effective coping skills.
As part of your role, you will:
· Design and deliver lessons tailored to students’ individual needs, focusing on Functional Skills Maths, Functional Skills English and equivalent qualifications.
· Work together with colleagues to create and maintain a positive learning environment.
· Offer effective pastoral care and behaviour support to students.
· Communicate progress effectively to senior leaders, parents, and carers.
To be a successful candidate we ask that you:
· Understand trauma-informed practice or be willing to undertake relevant training.
· Be experienced in supporting students with challenging behaviour, promoting positive outcomes.
· Be passionate about pastoral care and supporting students’ emotional well-being.
· Be a team player with excellent collaboration and communication skills.
What We Offer:
- A gym membership to multiple different gyms
- Free access to premium apps for wellbeing
- A comprehensive induction and training package to help you settle into your role.
- Ongoing support and mentoring to develop your skills and career.
- A positive and committed workplace culture that values and supports staff.
- Opportunities for professional development and growth within the organisation.
