ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Understanding of the 10 National Child Safe Standards which protect children and young people from abuse and neglect.
  • Fully qualified teacher, registered or eligible for registration with the Teachers Registration Board of Tasmania.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications or professional experience in Access & Inclusion, learning support, or special education.
  • Proven ability to develop and deliver inclusive and engaging learning programs tailored to student needs.
  • Strong knowledge of the Australian Curriculum and contemporary pedagogical practices.
  • Experience using ICT and learning management systems to enhance teaching and learning.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, students, and families.
  • Commitment to professional learning, co-curricular involvement, and pastoral care responsibilities.
  • Current Tasmanian Working with Vulnerable People registration (employment).
Responsibilities

The Friends’ School is seeking a passionate and dedicated Access & Inclusion Teacher to join our Middle School team. This role plays a vital part in supporting students with diverse learning needs, ensuring they are empowered to thrive academically, socially, and personally.
The Access & Inclusion Teacher will work closely with classroom teachers, Learning Assistants, school psychologists, and families to develop and deliver tailored learning programs, case-manage students with specific needs, and support inclusive pedagogy across the school. This role also contributes to professional learning for staff and helps maintain the School’s commitment to an inclusive and equitable learning environment.
