TEACHER OF BIOLOGY

St George’s is seeking a Teacher of Biology to join the Science Department effective immediately until the end of this academic year. This post offers an exciting opportunity to teach Biology up to IGCSE and IB levels, as well as Science in Key Stage 3. The successful candidate will be an accomplished subject specialist able to inspire and enthuse pupils. In addition, the ability to teach IB Environmental Systems and Societies (ESS) would be an advantage.

Responsibilities

Teaching and Learning

  • To inspire and enthuse students, colleagues and parents
  • To demonstrate comprehensive subject knowledge in Biology up to GCSE/IGCSE level
  • To deliver Science teaching in Year 7 and Year 8.
  • To keep abreast of new curriculum thinking, teaching methods and relevant examination syllabuse
  • To maintain and implement school and department policies and adhere to protocols outlined in the departmental handbook
  • To attend departmental meetings
  • To use tracking and monitoring to advance student learning
  • To contribute to school improvement / development planning and promote the learning
