ABOUT THE ROLE

We’re seeking world-class educators to inspire the next generation of Community Services students!
In this rewarding role, you’ll deliver TAFE NSW qualifications in Community Services, Youth Work, and Alcohol and Other Drug Work—alongside a variety of short courses designed to meet the real-world needs of the Community Services sector.
Share your expertise and passion for your industry by helping our students develop the skills, qualifications, and confidence they need to achieve their career goals.
We currently have two full-time temporary opportunities available with appointments through to 31 December 2025 and the possibility of extension. The location is negotiable state-wide across our TAFE NSW campuses, depending on campus availability. For the right candidate, the position may also be considered for remote work.

    This is a child-related position. A Working with Children Check is a prerequisite for anyone in child-related work. It involves a national criminal history check and review of findings of workplace misconduct.
    To be eligible for positions at TAFE NSW, you need to be an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident of Australia or a New Zealand citizen with a current New Zealand passport.

To be successful in the role you will:

  • Hold appropriate subject knowledge, skills and hold a minimum of a Degree in a Community Services e.g., Social Work, Community Services, Youth Work, Alcohol and Other Drug Work, Counselling, Mental Health or equivalent tertiary qualification in related disciplines.
  • Have a minimum of three years post-qualification experience in industry relevant to your qualifications, gained no longer than five years previously.
  • Evidence of holding the appropriate teaching qualifications to deliver Vocational Education and Training. See the candidate support document (here) for details
  • Be prepared to continue to develop their Vocational Education and Training (VET) knowledge and skills as well as their industry currency and trainer/assessor competence
