Description

FULL-TIME, NON-RESIDENTIAL, PERMANENT POSITION FOR SEPTEMBER 2025, OR AS SOON AS POSSIBLE THEREAFTER.

Owing to an internal promotion to the Core Leadership Group, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a qualified teacher, or ambitious graduate seeking to commence a career in education, to teach Junior subjects for pupils in years Four, Five and Six (ages 8 to 11).
Our teachers are inspiring and creative, supporting one another in transforming the futures of intelligent pupils with literacy and language-related additional challenges, by empowering them.

ABOUT THIS POST:

This is an exciting permanent post for an enthusiastic, talented teacher - either qualified, or a graduate seeking to commence an exciting career in teaching - to develop their enjoyment and expertise in delivering the teaching and learning of Junior Subjects for pupils in years Four, Five and Six with the occasional requirement to teach an additional subject in Year Seven or Eight depending upon the successful candidate. A particular interest in Computing teaching would be advantageous. You will be an adaptable and self-reflective professional who is capable of working collaboratively within a supportive team.
In addition to the commitments of the teaching timetable, the post-holder will be a form-tutor, supported and led by the Head of Junior Years. This role requires the post-holder to liaise with teaching and therapy staff, and with parents to support the emotional wellbeing of the pupils and to develop pupils’ organisation. The post-holder will also be expected to lead one extra-curricular, after-school activity, on one afternoon a week from 4.30 pm until 5.30 pm during term-time. The post-holder will participate in the supervision-duty programme, responsible within a team of staff allocated to duties at lunch and break-times, and other times as is necessary. The writing of reports and completion of other records, and attendance at parent consultation evenings are elements of the role.
The above list of duties is not exhaustive, and the post-holder may be required to perform such other duties as may be deemed necessary by the Headmaster or Chief Operating Officer from time to time.
